A room fit for a teen boy ✨ (There’s a fun fact all boy mom’s need to know at the bottom of this caption) This Summer, we promised our bigs a bedroom refresh to curate a space that truly reflects them. It was so fun allowing them to make big decisions, i.e. paint color and beds, while also guiding them in making those decisions. (“We’re going to choose from this set of gray tones so they read correctly in the lighting of our home.”) Our son Cohban turned thirteen last month, and this milestone pulled at my working mom heart. These are the days we do not get back, and that reality helps me structure my days with intention. Ever since we’ve completed his room, this space has become a new family hangout, even if it’s just me reading on his bed while he plays video games or catches up with friends. It’s in those moments he feels me near, feels safe, and shares his heart. Did you know boys tend to share more when you sit side by side vs. face to face?
